103d INFANTRY DIVISION WORLD WAR II ASSOCIATION

410th Infantry Regiment

The distinctive regimental insignia was approved in 1925. The Sia Sun symbol was adopted from the design of the New Mexico state flag. The regimental motto is "Super Aruda Surgo" which translates from Latin to "Arise Over Difficulties."

The formation of the 410th Infantry Regiment was part of the overall structure of the 103d Infantry Division. By the end of 1922 the Division had a total of 829 Reserve officers and 50 enlisted soldiers. The headquarters for the 103d Infantry Division was located in Denver, Colorado.

During combat operations, units were required to submit a report of operations on a monthly basis. These were dubbed "Unit Journals" and have formed an integral part of the unit's history. Units also submitted a Narrative of Operations during their time in combat.

During combat operations, units were required to submit, on a monthly basis, a report of operations. These were dubbed Unit Journals and formed an integral part of the unit's history. The 410th Infantry Regiment historical documents were retrieved from the National Archives Records Agency in College Park, Maryland through the efforts of many volunteers, a special thanks to David Gilbert and Zack Sigler. The following are copies of these documents, including the operations of the 410th Infantry Regiment from its initial entry into battle in November 1944 to V-E Day in May 1945.
