The Military Police Platoon of the 103d Infantry Division was not part of its original organization in 1922, it was not until 1942 when the 103d Infantry Division was reorganized for activation during WWII that the Military Police Platoon was assigned.

During combat operations, units were required to submit a report of operation on a monthly basis. These reports were dubbed "Unit Journals," and they form a critical part of the unit's history. The historical documents for the 103d's Military Police Platoon were retrieved from the National Archives Records Administration in College Park MD, through the efforts of many volunteers, with a special thanks to David Gilbert and Zack Sigler.
